Pray… Rejoice in the Lord Jesus, O my soul, for you have been made righteous in Him. Give praise, for praise from the upright is beautiful in His sight. Praise the Lord with a song and make melody to Him with an instrument! Sing to Him a new song, playing skillfully and with shouts of joy! The Word of the Lord is right and His every deed is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice, and the earth is full of the goodness of your God. By His Word the heavens were made, and the entire host of the heavens were fashioned by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together, laying up the deep in His storehouses. Therefore, fear the Lord your God and let everything within you behold in reverence and awe! You speak and it is done, O my God. You command and it stands fast. You bring the counsel of nations to nothing and make the plans of earthly rulers irrelevant. Your counsel alone stands forever, and there will be no end to the government that rests upon Your shoulders. Your plans stand firm before every generation and blessed will be the people whose God is the Lord. Oh yes, blessed will be the people He chooses as His own inheritance!

O God, You look down from heaven upon all the sons of men. From the throne where You dwell, You look upon all the inhabitants of the earth. You know them because You have fashioned their hearts uniquely and considered their every deed. Their kings are not saved by great armies, nor are their mighty men delivered by their great strength. In vain they put their hopes for security in their power, but their weapons will deliver no one. Behold, Your eye is upon those who fear You and Your mercy upon those who hope in You. You live to deliver them from the wages of sin and renew them in times of trial. O my soul, wait for the Lord for He is your only help and defense. Rejoice in Him, O my heart, because you have trusted in His holy name! Lord Jesus, may Your mercies go with me as I endure this journey in faith. As I wait patiently and trust, guide and perfect me in Your Holy Spirit.

ConsiderI urge you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Many of us will offer our finances, our prayers, and our voices to the cause of worship. While these are all noble pursuits, Jesus’ Great Commission was a call to total worship—to present all we were and everything we had to the cause of His mission for us inside the fellowship and outside in the marketplace. Using every good gift He has given us for worship includes praying from our spirit, witnessing and teaching from our soul, and acting in the flesh so as to reveal Jesus to those we come into contact with. He is looking down from heaven upon the sons of men to find answers to the question, “Who will go for Us, and whom shall We send?” Fear Him, and hope upon His grace enough to say, “Here am I, Lord, send me.” Worship Him in spirit, soul, and body, and rest assured in the knowledge that His eye will be upon you.
