On the one hand we might see the futility of trying to reach a God whose thoughts and ways are as high above ours as the heavens are above the earth (Isa. 55) that might make us want to quit before we start. But on the other hand, “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2), and we experience the power and calling of the indwelling of the Spirit that constantly urges us to press on towards previously unimaginable goals. No higher calling is offered to us in this life, and certainly nothing the kingdom of man has to offer, that can loose the sandals of the pursuit of God in His kingdom!

But pursuit always indicates a cost is involved. With the greatest pursuit of all comes the greatest cost, so consider this your call to action for without your action God’s plans for you go nowhere. The stakes are both high and eternal. In Acts 14, we are told the Spirit sent the Apostles out preaching: “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” He will not open the window to the kingdom to you without considerable measures of your obedience, perseverance, and sacrifice.
