Pray… Lord Jesus, You know how temptations can overtake me, and how trials can dishearten me. The deceiver arises and whispers to my soul, “Your God cannot rescue nor deliver you.” Let me focus upon the truth that You, Lord Jesus, have always been the safety net that encircles me. You alone have always been my glory and crown, and the One who lifts me up in faith, hope, and love. When I cry out to You in anxiousness and fear, You answer me by Your Spirit speaking to my inner man. I have His presence to abide in and comfort me. He whispers to my soul, “Do not fear for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you for I am your God. I will strengthen you and surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

These things I consider as I lay down in restlessness. Then, as I awaken, I find Your tender mercies are with me, so new every morning! You sustain me, and so I need not be afraid of the powers of darkness arrayed against me. O God, Your Son intercedes for me, and in You and the power of Your Spirit I can withstand all the forces of evil. You defeat the influences of wickedness on my behalf. Salvation belongs to You, O God, and the blessing and power of Your presence dwells within Your people. Therefore, I can find comfort in the midst of my trials through believing in Your sure promises. Help me, O my God, to walk by faith and not by sight. Bless the Lord for all He does for you, O my soul!

ConsiderWe have not ceased to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Disciples seek revelation [spiritual wisdom, insight, and understanding] above knowledge. Although knowledge of the Word is our foundation and the measuring stick by which all truth must be judged, disciples also look to the language of the kingdom, revelation in their inner man. Knowledge is what everyone can get from God’s Word. Revelation is that transformational, life-altering, personal message He wants you alone to get. God’s internal revelation is the light that empowers, sustains, and renews us as we do battle with the darkness. Revelation, His Rhema Word, transforms the knowledge of God into the heart of God in us, so we bear fruit in a fallen world. It leads us into a full experience of His Word, His Spirit, and His love. Knowledge can lead us to know God, but it is revelation that leads us to experience God. Be sure to have a working knowledge of the Word but don’t stop there. Seek the transforming power of revelation!
