Although knowledge of the Word is our foundation and the measuring stick by which all truth must be judged, disciples also look to the language of the kingdom, revelation in their inner man. Knowledge is what everyone can get from God’s Word. Revelation is that transformational, life-altering, personal message He wants you alone to get. God’s internal revelation is the light that empowers, sustains, and renews us as we do battle with the darkness. Revelation, His Rhema Word, transforms the knowledge of God into the heart of God in us, so we bear fruit in a fallen world. It leads us into a full experience of His Word, His Spirit, and His love. Knowledge can lead us to know God, but it is revelation that leads us to experience God. Be sure to have a working knowledge of the Word but don’t stop there.
